ABOUT THE BLOG

The Roots

I have been a wanderer all my life. Growing up, I got to travel a lot thanks to my father who worked for the UN and was posted in the remotest locations. He inculcated in me a passion to learn as much as possible about the local language, history, food and culture of every place we stayed. I spent a good part of my childhood in Middle East and Africa (Egypt, Syria, Uganda, Lebanon and Iraq) before moving back to India for my education. During my school and college years I discovered the joys of trekking and budget travel. A sea-lover, a forest-seeker and an avid car rallyist, I prefer the road given half a chance. I love to journal and document everything. Even today every trip is preceded by frantic research and heightened anticipation and excitement. And then there is the journey itself that I can relive a thousand times. This love of travel is what I hope to capture at Wanderer at large.
